Three

Scene 1:

The story begins with a young man in his early twenties leaving class on a cool autumn day.  As he makes his way to his next destination he notices a photograph blow across his path in a slight breeze.  He bends down to pick it up and sees a picture of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.  She’s wearing a lovely dress and is holding two of her fingers up.  He becomes mesmerized with the picture and sets to find out who she is.

Scene 2:

Determined to discover the vision of beauty from the photo, the young man makes his way to the campus center.  He finds it less crowed than usual, it is after all late afternoon and most everyone is starting to make their way home.  He approaches three separate people and shows each of them the photo asking if they had seen or possibly knew the girl.  Each one says that they have not seen or do not know her, but they all remark about how pretty she is.  Disappointed, the young man decides to end his search for the day and go home.

Scene 3:

He stares, fixated at the photograph as he begins to make his way across the schoolyard to the parking lot.  While walking, he sees someone walking in the opposite direction out of the corner of his eye; a woman.  He whirls around and sees no one.  He stands there looking a bit puzzled, surely he wasn’t seeing things.  He looks down at the photo in his hand and hears someone whisper his name in a soft ethereal voice.  He looks up and around; seeing no one and now a little creeped out, he continues on his way.  

Scene 4:

Still staring intently at the photo, he finally reaches the parking lot.  Once again he hears his name called out softly.  He looks up and this time sees her in the distance, it’s the woman in the photograph, beckoning him to come to her.  Without looking he sprints out into the parking lot and into the way of an oncoming car.  The tires squeal and there’s a loud thud.  The young man is hit.  The driver steps out of the car frantic to help the young man, but it’s too late.  The driver looks down and notices a photo in the man’s hand.  He picks it up and sees a picture a beautiful woman wearing a lovely dress and holding up three of her fingers.
